no matter where we go we will always have family to help us and protect us. After that I began my journey with YWAM. I live in a GCU style dorm living with 12 others girls and three girls in my room. My roommates are Charlotte from England, Heidi from Australia, and Gabbi from Ohio. Most of the people are from the states but there are also people from the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Canada, Germany, England, and Vietnam. They are all really awesome and bring a new taste of a different culture to my life. We are located on top of a mountain so our view is absolutely beautiful and everything around me is green. The weather is as hot and as humid as southern California (it's summer here) and we are 18 hours ahead so it is actually Monday afternoon right now. (Crazy right.) Yes there are bugs here but not plotting to kill me as I was warned. As long as you don't bug them they are peaceful and quite beautiful. A question I have been asked is if I've made friends and the beautiful thing I can say is no, I haven't I have made family. Although we have known each other for four days I can honestly say I love everyone here and I know we are going to be family. I am excited to hear everyone's story and get to know each person individually. "Special Relationships" or romantic relationships are not allowed because this is meant to keep our focus on God not man so those of you out there worried I'll come back hitched, worry no more. Today was the first day of lecture and this weeks topic is our identity in Christ and the character of God. These two topics are life changing so I am excited to get to know more about them. In our lecture today I was reminded that through our own brokenness God can use it to empower others. So don't be scared to show your scars. Overall, I am excited to be here and not too homesick although I do miss hearing my moms laugh and all of my sisters stories. One way you can pray for me is that I remain focused on God. There are not very many distractions here but a goal of mine is to continuously be in communion with God. Also I am still not fully funded and thankfully YWAM is allowing me more time to raise the funds. So if any of you still want to give, it is not to late. You can donate by simply pressing the click here to support button. If there are specific questions you have that you would like me to answer leave a comment on this blog post. Also I will be posting once a week every Friday. (your time) Thank you for reading, praying, and supporting. | "...because we are unified by Gods spirit, no matter where we go we will always have family to help us and protect us." |
